On November 27, 1981, he married his beloved Patricia Bryant, and together, they have been blessed with five children. Patricia, born and raised in Enfield, North Carolina, as well as in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Junior (Buddy) Bryant and Ella Mae Wiggins, both esteemed native members of the Enfield community.

Reverend Michael A. Redic Sr. is a retired decorated US Army Veteran, having proudly served our nation for over twenty years with utmost dedication and bravery. His commitment to excellence earned him the prestigious United States Army Soldier's Medal for Heroism during his service in Central America. He is also a proud disabled American Veteran.

Reverend Redic served on Governors Beverly Purdue and Patrick McCrory’s Task Force for NC Veterans and their families. His passion for post military education for Veterans led him to collaborate with North Carolina universities and colleges to ensure that active duty and disabled Veterans were afforded appropriate consideration when deployments and/or service-related disabilities hampered their education pursuits.
He worked tirelessly with university administration and effected agreements with over 120 North Carolina universities and colleges certifying them as “Veteran Friendly” educational institutions, including all of the major North Carolina universities and colleges. His work on the Durham VAMC OEF-OIF-OND Program earned his team the distinction by the Department of Veterans Affairs as 2nd in the nation for best practices for returning combat Veterans.

He was ordained as a minister in the Church of God In Christ, International in 1998. He studied Theology and Bible Doctrine at John Wesley College and Laurel University. In December 2015, Reverend Redic was led of the Lord to start City of Refuge Christian Center, in Enfield, NC located at 737 S. McDaniel Street.
As part of the church community outreach, Reverend Redic created a Veteran Services Office and continues to the day to provide VA support and services for Veterans and their families.

He founded the City of Refuge Christian Center in Enfield, NC, establishing a Veteran Services Office to provide vital support to veterans and their families. Pastor Redic's active involvement in local initiatives, including collaborations with universities and serving on task forces for veterans and families, underlines his resolute commitment to fostering a vibrant, caring, and prosperous community. His multifaceted experience, deep-rooted values, and unwavering dedication position him as a strong advocate for the positive growth and transformation of our town.
